Description : Ginger oleoresin is obtained by percolating the powdered rhizomes of Ginger, Zingiber officinale with volatile solvents. It is produced by extraction of the dried and unpeeled rhizome of Zingiber Officinale, ground to a moderately coarse powder. The removal of the last few percents of solvent is a problem which has yet to be solved satisfactorily.

Benefit : Ginger oleoresin contains several phenolic compounds (gingerols), which soothe an irritated gastrointestinal mucosa, increase salivary secretion, stimulate bile production, increase gut motility, and reduce gastric spasms. It increases the secretion of the powerful proteolytic and lipolytic enzymes trypsin and pancreatic lipase and may have a positive effect in constipation and in preventing colon cancer.
