Description :
Pepper Long Oleoresin is an oleoresin of Indian Long Pepper and is commonly known as Pippali. Long Pepper or Piper longum is used as spice and seasoning and is a close relative of black pepper. Long Pepper grows in flowering vine which is cultivated for its fruits. Pepper Long Oleoresin is extracted from the dried long pepper through supercritical fluid extraction process and is then converted into oleoresins which are insoluble in water and soluble in oils. The Pepper Long Oleoresin is a thick grayish brown liquid which is dark in color and has pungent and spicy odor. It is widely used for its therapeutic properties.

Constituents :
Pepper berries grow in long clusters, and turn green, then red, as they ripen. The stage at which they’re harvested (and whether or not they are husked) determines the color of the resulting spice.

Uses :
Pepper Long Oleoresin is one of the most widely used herbs in Ayurvedic treatments. It is used in the preservation of orange juice, which is better and safer than synthetic preservatives. Thus, the reported work would have practical application in the food industry.

Benefit :
The most significant of these benefits include acting as a powerful antiseptic and antispasmodic, working as an antitoxin and antioxidant, improving digestive processes, and even working as a tonic to help rejuvenate your spleen.

Caution Note:
Oleoresin is a powerful irritant, and even in minute quantities produces an intense burning sensation when it comes in contact with the eyes and tender parts of the skin.
